As a series of natural disaster destroy the American Pacific coast and threatens to spread to the rest of the planet, survivors try to get organized.

Based on a British novel by S. Fowler Wright, Deluge is one of the first films of a filmmaker who’ll direct The big trees, The man behind the gun or the crazy Donovan’s brain. This RKO production, made with remarkable special effects, already uses the scheme of the comedy of remarriage: its love triangle, quite bold for the era, is typical of the pre-Code Era. First disaster film in the history of cinema, Deluge has been screened for a while in a damaged print, before its recent miraculous 35 mm exhumation by Lobster.

A long awaited rediscovery!
