After an earthquake, the kingdom of Goto is reduced to the size of an island. Several years later, emperor Goto III rules his territory with an iron fist, while his spouse Glossia attempts  to run off with Gono…

Walerian Borowczyk’s  (Immoral Tales, The Beast) first feature film after many shorts and the animation film Mr. and Mrs. Kabal's Theater, gives Pierre Brasseur (Eyes without a Face) and Ginette Leclerc (The Crow) their craziest roles, and shows all his savoir-faire, his poetic madness and his unbridled and surrealist freedom. It’s not surprising if filmmakers like Terry Gilliam still consider it a cult classic.

Sunday 10 September 2017 - 17:15 - Showroom 300 - Screening presented by Marc Caro and Jean-Pierre Jeunet
