A former sailor, now a warden in an asylum for the insane, will try to free his wife, locked up after a suicide attempt with their baby.

Known for Gate of Hell (1954 Cannes Festival Grand Prix) Teinosuke Kinugasa is also the author of one of the greatest japanese movies, considered as the japanese answer to Robert Wiene’s Cabinet of Dr Caligari. Without hesitation, A Wild Page can be called an unknown masterpiece, as this surrealist film was considered lost until a copy was found buried by Kunisaga in his garden at the onset of World War II. Superbly restored in 4K, it can be seen at this exceptional and not to be missed screening.

Sunday 17 September 2017 - 17:15 - Showroom 300 - Screening hosted by Serge Bromberg - Screening in partnership with Lobster Films
