Maria, chased by religious fanatics for letting three piglets escape from their enclosure, finds shelter in a house that seems to react to her emotions.
It took almost seven years for chilean filmmakers Cristóbal León & Joaquín Cociña, well known for their demented shorts (Lucia, Luis, Nocturno de Chile), to give birth to their first feature film. An incredibly dark film, telling the story of Paul Slater, an ex-nazi pedophile and founder of the sadly notorious Dignidad Colony, the movie cleverly mixes the universal codes of fairy tales with numerous animation techniques (paper maché, mural art). Chilling.
