In the middle of the 19th century, Japan moves on from feudalism to enter a new era. A ronin, living among peasants ensures their safety, until a group of mercenaries try to enroll him.
Since Tetsuo, Shinya Tsukamoto (Bullet Ballet, Tokyo Fist) regularly sends us his works like so many wild electric bombs, and they never leave viewers unscathed. With Killing, he takes a shot at saber movies, and benefits from the presence of Sosuke Ikematsu (seen in Kore-Eda's work) and Yu Aoi (seen in Kiyoshi Kurosawa's work). One of this edition's strong points.
