Markus, a soldier deployed to Afghanistan, comes home urgently to Denmark: his wife has just died in a train crash. On top of his sorrow comes his difficulty communicating with his daughter Mathilde. One evening a stranger comes to his place to reveal the crash was no accident. From then on the soldier has only one obsession: revenge.

A faithful collaborator of Anders Thomas Jensen (Adam’s Apples), the great Mads Mikkelsen plays a Danish John Wick in this movie as efficient in its action scenes as in its humor. Criticizing the reactionary aspects of the genre while also respecting its codes, with its many plot twists, Riders of Justice avoids all pitfalls by offering surprising tone changes: it's energetic, fun and thought provoking at the same time.
