A deaf gangster falls in love with a young girl. The lovers set off on a crime spree, stealing, mugging and robbing everyone in their path.
After being the assistant director on Saint Terrorism in 1982, Nobuhiro Suwa (M/Other, H Story) directed a short film he now repudiates (Santa Claus comes to town), and two years later, he gives us this take on Bonnie and Clyde, greatly nourished by the formal and thematic obsessions of the French Nouvelle Vague (Godard and Resnais especially). Not wanting to hide his cinematographic choices, Nobuhiro Suwa prefers to play with the genre's codes and humorously underlines them. A surprising discovery, distinguished the following year at the PIA Festival.
