With a flurry of hard boiled references (Harry Crews and Nick Tosches, Kōji Wakamatsu and Don Siegel, Kenneth Anger and angry rock’n’roll) in their baggage, director Marco Laguna and actor Wild Dee Borra sign one of the most muscular and testosterone charged films of this year’s edition, superbly shot in 16mm. A guerilla style shooting spread out on several years gave them total freedom, and gives the film it’s joyously transgressive madness that reeks of cold ashtrays, dust, and adulterated booze.
