A portrait of post-hardcore American musical quatuor Fugazi, from Washington, who played their local scene, and then internationally from 1987. From their beginnings to 1996, Jem Cohen has gathered concert footage, interviews, and backstage shots taken on the go.

During 10 years, filmmaker Jem Cohen followed the four band members scrupulously, closely entering their intimacy, thus capturing confounding  truth and sincerity. But the film is also a portrait of the disillusions of that era’s America, that transpires through Fugazi’s political stands, put in perspective with interventions by their fans.
