Steven, a renowned surgeon, caring father and ideal husband, sees his life and his family’s shattered to pieces the day he brings home Martin, a teenager who recently lost his father  and who will find wicked pleasure in manipulating the whole family.

Yórgos Lánthimos enjoys destroying moral norms and family structures. After Canine, already shown here, he does it once more in this wickedly twisted thriller where he again works with Colin Farrell, following their excellent The Lobster, for a massacre game under the influence of Haneke’s Funny Games, and Kubrick’s cinema (especially Eyes Wide Shut) from whom he borrows Nicole Kidman. Best Scenario Prize at Cannes in 2017.
