Thelma leaves her family and her native countryside to study on a university campus in Oslo. She will experience new sensations and will have to struggle with her shyness, her differences, her first love emotions… and discover her strange powers.

Revealed to the world scene with Oslo, August 31, Joachim Trier returns to his native country with a film mixing an initiatory story about entering the adult age and fantasy cinema, two themes that marry well as the recent Grave and It Follows have proved. This time Trier once again works with writer Eskil Vogt and cinematographer Jakob Ihre, and makes a remarkable entrance in the horror and supernatural genres.
