French premiere - Presentation reserved to audience above 16

Hanna, from Austria, is stuck in a hospital bed after an auto accident. Next to her lays her Ukrainian companion Jura, overwhelmed by guilt : he was the one driving when the accident happened.

After a few short films, and a noticed documentary (Sickfuckpeople), Juri Rechinsky follows the steps of his comrade Myroslav Slaboshpytskiy (The Tribe) with this film produced by  Ulrich Seidl (Dog Days, Animal Love, In the Basement). As soon as he saw the first dailies, the author of Paradise felt compelled to be part of its creation. And by seeing Ugly, which should leave nobody indifferent, it seems that the disciple has well assimilated the master’s lessons.
