Jailed for three decades, Coffin Joe AKA Zé do Caixão re-appears with his fingernails, cape and top-hat. Now free, he sets off on an ultimate quest to find the perfect woman, one to perpetuate his evil lineage.

By giving the mythical Coffin Joe a new life, Brazilian director José Mojica Marins brings his trilogy,  started with At Midnight I'll Take Your Soul. (1964) and This Night I'll Possess Your Corpse  (1966), to a superb ending and once again pays tribute to the world of the occult. In a final gesture he buries his alter ego by giving him an exemplary funeral. One last act of bravado that concludes a career in sex, blood and bad taste.
