The year 2030. Adam, the doorman for a big corporation, finds an old radio in his flat that allows him to travel through time.
With this Orwellian and Dickian dystopia, a far cousin of Matrix, Brazil and Blade Runner, Polish director and scriptwriter Bodo Kox (The Girl from the Wardrobe) plays with genre codes, without falling into a reference catalog. Better still he imposes his own dark and disembodied universe. Plastically superb, The Man with the Magic Box is one of the most daring films of the year, and confirms the talent of its author who may well become a major player in the coming years.
