 L'Étrange Festival - XXVème édition - 4 au 15 septembre 2019 - The room

The room

Kate et Matt, un couple de trentenaires, emménagent dans une grande maison à la campagne. Lors des travaux, ils découvrent une pièce particulière, qui semble exaucer leurs vœux. Mais ce qui semble un cadeau et une chance pourrait bien entraîner le couple dans une spirale cauchemardesque.

Sorti en 2006, Renaissance, le premier long-métrage noir de Christian Volckman, fut rapidement salué et distribué partout dans le monde, et s’imposa comme l’un des meilleurs films d’animation français, pourtant riche en réussites. Enfin de retour après quelques expériences artistiques, il est de retour avec ce film qui en dépit d’une économie de moyens est certainement l’un des plus inspirés de l’année. Une leçon !
