This already appetizing resumé doesn’t prepare you for the New Zealand feast that awaits you: a monument of joyful body horror that recalls Peter Jackson’s jubilant bad taste beginnings, where all things slimy, seminal liquids, gory delirium and old school special effects all mingle without restraint. In this continuation of their 2024 short film, the Thunderlips duo happily blends teen movies, contemporary satire and horror. Like Frank Henenlotter in his trivial and generous cinema, they never forget two essential elements of their relationship to freaks: love and compassion.
