Over the course of twelve days, L'Étrange Festival 2016 has presented 5 World premieres, 2 International premieres, 6 European premieres and 26 French premieres, 2 “Cartes Blanches”
to Jaz Coleman and Stéphane Blanquet as well as a focus to Frank Henenlotter. On sunday, September the 18th, L’Étrange Festival is thrilled to announce the Palmares for its 22nd edition.

International feature film competition - Grand Prix Nouveau Genre Award

Surprise, surprise! For the first time in the history of L'Étrange Festival, 2 feature films are equally ranked to win the Grand Prix Nouveau Genre Award 2016:

Headshot by Kimo Stamboel & Timo Tjahjanto –  (aka The Mo Brothers) – Indonesia – 2016 – 120 mn – Action – Color

and

They call me Jeeg Robot by Gabriele Mainetti – Italia – 2015 – 92 mn – Fantastic – Color

After Buried in 2010, Bullhead in 2011, Headhunters in 2012, The major in 2013, The voices in 2014, and Schneider vs. Bax in 2015, Headshot and They call me Jeeg Robot will receive a cash prize award amounting to the purchase of the French premium broadcast rights by Canal+Cinema.
