The day before her fifteenth birthday, Greta Driscoll desperatly clings to her childhood world, but when her parents throw her a party to celebrate her coming to age, the young girl is immersed in an absurd, erotic and weird universe.

Cousin to a Napoleon Dynamite that would have been reviewed and updated by Wes Anderson and Maurice Sendak, Greta's character takes us to a land populated by exuberant nightmares and crazy fantasies in front of Rosemary Myers' lense who's adapting the Australian play she had put on at the Windmill Theatre. Like its lead actress, ingenue Bethany Whitmore (Mary & Max), Girl asleep is one of this year's discoveries.
