Screened at the Critics Week in 1982 at the Cannes Film Festival, L’ange is a polysemous piece, influenced by the films of Eisenstein, German Expressionism, the paintings of Jérôme Bosch and Francesco Guardi and Diderot’s Encyclopedia. Patrick Bokanowski’s first feature (whose film Un rêve solaire, his last movie, is also part of this year selection) is an experience that almost feels shamanique, seeking spiritual elevation and Light.
