Living in a suburban house is a dream finally come true for the Kobayashi family. Everyone is in the right place: Father at work, Mother at home, the children at school. But the arrival of Grandpa is a grain of sand in the machine.
In this home invasion comedy where the victims are really the aggressors, family dysfunction reaches new heights. Despite a more restrained 80s aesthetic than in his early days, less trashy than Takashi Miike, Sogo Ishii still remains a punk as he organizes this devastating carnage, this antimaterialist anarchist firebrand that tramples all the stereotypes of the respectable Japanese family, transformed into a battlefield. As always, hilarious and disturbing.
