In a dark uchronic world, after a science experiment has made all the invisible creatures tangible, Henryk, the blue man who doesn’t age, and Mischief the mutant clown, set off on a singular adventure.
Come aboard the bus driven by Mischief the mutant clown and let yourself go into the heart of this fascinating surrealistic nightmare where references are entwined, from Magritte to Lovecraft or Brazil. Defining Umami’s Interface would be as pointless as explaining Burroughs' Interzone, but nonetheless this animated web series compiled to make a feature film is highly addictive: the screen’s electric snow turns into a poetic fluid, a proof that inventiveness isn’t the big screen’s exclusive domain. Since experimentation - from Jean-Christophe Averty to l’Œil du Cyclone - has abandoned TV, its future may well be on Youtube.

Flying Lotus

I was a fan of this webseries on Youtube. I found the story to be super engaging and the music was very hypnotic, and I think if you approach it the right way, there’s some really trippy magnificence in this thing, and the director Umami has got his own voice, you can see when you watch this It’s avery unique voice in the world of animation. I think he’s very talented and the music is a big part of it all. It's also very cool that you can see episode after episode that his style had developed and gotten more detailed, and he put more into each one. It's really cool to see where it starts and where it ends up, and how complex and layered and detailed it gets. Again it’s one of those things where you can see someone’s obsession as well as how his artistic abilities develop over time. It’s really fascinating.
