A brilliant mix of genres, between comedy, action and suspense, Bruno Mourral’s first feature film addresses the kidnapping issue in Haiti, submitted to violence and corruption. The victims being its inhabitants, the director's family and friends included. Ironically, part of the crew was abducted during the production, started in 2021 and often interrupted. Kidnapping Inc., though often hilarious, also conveys a genuine sense of urgency and transmits a feeling of chaos somewhat similar to Wes Craven’s The Serpent and the Rainbow, set in the same country. This explosive cocktail confirms that humor can be the most effective of weapons.
