The Theorem like theme, where a stranger arrives and dismantles the family and the couple’s codes to better reveal them unto themselves, still inspires creators. After Bruce Labruce and his The Visitor, Justin Anderson offers these scenes of an upset marital life and make us face our own dysfunctions, in a parable that flirts with horror. Adapted from a novel by Deborah Levy, Swimming Home shines by its formalism, its soundscape and its cleverly erotic body choreography. And when Ariane Labed leads the dance, It’s difficult not to be bewitched!
