Isolated in a cabin lost in the mountains, a forest ranger drowns his loneliness in booze as he awaits his replacement, when an armed wounded man seeks refuge in his home, soon followed by three others feigning to be policemen, looking for a poacher… Inspired by Jamyang Tsering’s novel.
For his first fiction feature film, Tibetan director Jigme Trinley, follows Tarantino’s tracks, from whom he borrows the recursive narrative forms of Reservoir Dogs and The Hateful Eight. He shows true savoir-faire in terms of suspense in this thriller where each character's identity is constantly questioned. A success.
