The Dark Below is Douglas Schulze's (Dark Fields) new stunt, while waiting to shoot the sequel of his clever Mimesis, he crafts for us a Machiavellian and claustrophobic thriller in line with Buried. Shot in a natural setting in the heart of winter around (and mostly in) Michigan's Great Lake, with an economy of speech who leaves us with a constant tension, the film can rely on his actors – among which the legendary Veronica Cartwright (Alien, The Town That Dreaded Sundown) – who transcends one of the most diabolical script.
