In the early 50s, the Turkish film industry changed into an actual factory of all kinds of remakes and pastiches. For nearly 40 years, andwith an average production of 300 films per year, a wide variety of action, horror, terror, adventure or even fairy tale films ersatz were produced in Istanbul's studios, for the great pleasure of a large popular audience happy to rediscover Hollywood's own icons revisited in the djadjik way.
The arrival of television in every homes signed the death warrant of a flourishing industry and booming at the time. The copies of the films were destroyed in order to extract the silver nitrate contained in them and, today, only a few bad and rare video copies remains. With a remarkable documentary tracing back the history of this precious period of Turkish popular cinema, now lost forever, the focus presents 3 major films of this cinema « Made in Istanbul ».
