The teenager Belle and her relatives have to face the tragic death of an aunt thus digging up family secrets buried for years. For the young girl, this is the beginning of an interior journey in which reality, fantasy, dreams and nightmares get mixed up.
Cat & Mouse marks the return of the Dutch duo Victor Nieuwenhuijs and Maartje Seyferth (Venus in Furs, based on the eponymous novel by Leopold von Sacher-Masoch, and more recently Meat, in competition at the festival in 2011) with this fifth movie who once again proves it peculiarity. By overcoming the boundaries of perception, the couple questions our moral facing death and desire in order to bring us further into an intense journey.
