L’adolescente Belle et son entourage doivent affronter la mort tragique d’une tante qui a pour effet de déterrer des secrets de famille enfouis depuis des années. Mais pour la jeune fille, c’est le début d’un voyage intérieur où se confondent fantasmes et réalité, rêves et cauchemars.

Cat & Mouse signe le retour du duo néerlandais Victor Nieuwenhuijs et Maartje Seyferth (Venus à la fourrure, et plus récemment Meat, en compétition au Festival en 2011) avec ce cinquième film qui s’impose une fois de plus par sa singularité. Dépassant les frontières de la perception, le couple interroge notre morale face à la mort et au désir pour mieux nous entraîner dans un voyage intense.
