1956. During the Colombian dictatorship, a family meets for a funeral, but explosions in the city are going to force the members of the clan to scatter through the rubble and to live different adventures.

As it begins a shocking and realistic way (animal lovers, beware), Carne de tu carne turns little by little into a more Gothic and surreal violence to a background of political conflict. This Carlos Mayolo's first movie brings its letters patent to Colombian science-fiction movies and gives birth to what the director qualified himself as “tropical Gothic”. A jewel of moral subversion.
