In a private school, benevolent Miss Novak initiates innovative nutrition classes that upset eating habits.. Parents, teachers, pupils are all enthusiastic. Some subjugated pupils join Club Zéro, a mysterious and very private circle.
The Austrian directress casts an immediately oblique look, like a view from a surveillance camera or the eyes of a fly on the wall, on this privileged, sanitized, bland world, whose absolute vacuity pretending to be substance, contaminates it from within. By choosing the world of nutrition as a metaphor to address several current burning issues, starting with the devious mechanics of lobbying, Hausner makes her point with very efficient physicality. It’s also the great return of the magnificent Mia Wasikowska.
