Young Blizzard is victim of a traffic accident and is amputated of both of his legs by Dr Ferris, but he discovers that this could have been avoided. Twenty-five years later, he is now a renowned gangster and launches his long awaited revenge.
Long before his collaboration with Tod Browning, actor Lon Chaney reached an immediate reputation in front of Wallace Worsley's camera (Ace of Heart, The Hunchback of Notre Dame). The actor himself designed a system to painfully obstruct his legs, limiting then the shooting to twenty minutes stretches. A remarkable performance at the service of a dark and subversive movie, as excessive as its author.
