I am here signe le retour de Kim Basinger, qui trouve ici un de ses meilleurs rôles, émouvante dans ses errances quasi-surréalistes peuplées de marginaux et de freaks aux côtés de Jordan Prentice (Bons baisers de Bruges) et Peter Stormare (Fargo). Derrière la caméra, on retrouve le cinéaste Anders Morgenthaler qui, après le remarqué Princesse et le sulfureux Echo, continue de décortiquer les bouleversements de la paternité.
