Après le sensationnel Primer, Shane Carruth nous offre un second film une fois de plus audacieux et labyrinthique, qu’il met en scène, écrit, produit et interprète. À la fois tortueux et fascinant, il alimente les plus folles théories, et les spectateurs tentent d’en percer les secrets. Carruth s’impose comme l’égal d’un Richard Kelly (Donnie Darko) et digne héritier d’un Alain Resnais (L’Année dernière à Marienbad, Je t’aime, je t’aime). Le film le plus sensitif de cette édition.
