Enfant, le timide Ryoichi rêvait de devenir chanteur punk. Aujourd’hui, il est vendeur anonyme dans une multinationale et n’arrive pas à avouer sa flamme à la belle Yuko. Sa vie bascule lorsqu’il trouve une tortue abandonnée qu’il décide d’adopter.

Les films de Sono Sion (Strange Circus, Why don’t you play in hell ?, Tokyo Tribe) se multiplient et ne se ressemblent pas. Fidèle de L’Étrange, il nous revient, après sa carte blanche l’an passé ici-même, avec un nouveau bâton de dynamite qui mêle musique punk et kaiju eiga (film de monstre nippon) à ses obsessions. Un moment fort de cette édition.
