À travers un montage d’images d’archives inédites et restaurées pour l’occasion, Jean-Gabriel Periot nous offre le portrait de l’histoire allemande et de l’évolution du groupe terroriste révolutionnaire Fraction Armée Rouge d’Andreas Baader et Ulrike Meinhof, tristement célèbre sous le surnom de la Bande à Baader.

Comme à son habitude, le cinéaste déjà auteur de Eût-elle été criminelle… (sur les tondues de la Libération) et The Devil (l’émergence des Black Panthers) utilise avec talent le montage pour mieux questionner notre propre morale. Un reflet de notre société contemporaine. Le choc de la dernière Berlinale.
